The effects of consuming nylon is still
under research

As the use of plastic increases, so does the waste. According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of The Republic of Indonesia (2021), Indonesia produces 28,5 million tons of trash annually, and 17% of them (4,85 million tons) come from plastics. Parts of this trash can turn into microplastic that pollutes the freshwater. Microplastics can come from decays of larger objects or small plastic bits such as body scrubs and laundry detergent.

This website intends to spread awareness about microplastic, including its sources, the fish's eating process, and the health effects on humans. You can also impact this issue by donating or signing a petition of the Ecoton Organization. Ecoton is an Indonesian-based environment organization that focuses on river conservation.
